IN TIMES OF CRISIS Many seniors fail to put in place life planning documents and provide for transition of control They perceive diminished capacity or health in such a negative light that they avoid it entirely. Consequently, the time of crisis may often be the first time the senior citizen addresses life planing issues. In a crisis, the older adult may find that choices and decisions are being made for her rather than by her. She may find herself unable to stay in control of her life. The professional working with the senior may not always know where to turn to help the senior. The senior in crisis usually has a maze of problems. By implementing an interdisciplinary approach Mr. Rosenkranz can often address all of the seniors problems. His primary goal is to restore as much independence as possible to the senior. Mr. Rosenkranz applies several methodologies such as Medicaid planning, enhancing government/VA benefits, and long term care insurance to help the senior obtain maximum benefit of resources. He actively seeks information about the services available to the elderly in the community so that he can direct them to the best resources available. The elderly client can then work at adjusting to rather a worrying about his or her circumstances.
